One of the most useful couponing tips is to get organized before each shopping trip. When you're not organized, you waste time wandering around the store while trying to sort out your coupons. You will also lose money, because it's so easy to miss coupons while sifting through a pile of them. Use these tips to get organized and save lots of money!
What You'll Need:
Clear Coupon or Card Binder Sleeves
Label Maker or Permanent Ink Marker
Dry Erase Marker
Pad of Paper
Bounty Paper Towels
Weekly Circular Ads
Sort out your coupons into category piles; such as frozen foods, produce, meat, and dairy. Sort through each category pile, organizing the coupons in each pile according to expiration dates. Toss out old and expired coupons.
Label the pockets in the sleeve protectors according to categories you regularly use. Leave a few pockets blank, because there are always a few coupons that don't fit into a standard category.
Get out the local store ads and go through them as you make your shopping list. Make a note of the sale items you plan to buy as well as about any sale items you have coupons for buying. If you can use coupons for sale items, you end up saving even more!
Use the dry erase marker to put a small star on each pocket holding coupons for sale items. This is just a backup reminder to accompany your sale list so you don't forget to use your money saving coupons.
After each shopping trip, use a damp Bounty paper towel to clean the dry erase marker notations off of the sleeve protectors.
These couponing tips are easy to follow and can save you a lot of money and time. Good luck!
