The key to quick house cleaning is preparation. If you find yourself searching for where you left the bottle of glass cleaner or running to the store for furniture polish on a whim, you're wasting time. Consider making a cleaning bucket for each level of your house. This eliminates running up and down the stairs—and leaving the room you're cleaning—each time you need a new cleaning product.
What You'll Need:
Toilet Bowl Cleaner
Bounty Paper Towels
Choose a 1-gallon bucket to hold all of your house cleaning supplies. Many prefer a bucket with a sturdy, wide-grip handle for comfort.
Place one bottle of glass cleanser in the bucket. To save room in your cleaning bucket, choose a combo glass-surface cleaning product.
Put a bottle of furniture polish in the bucket. Make sure it works for all furniture surfaces you clean routinely including wood, metal, and leather.
Add a bottle of toilet bowl cleanser to the bucket. Or, keep the bucket lightweight and use surface cleaner to polish the toilet bowl.
Choose a multi-purpose surface cleaner to add to the bucket. Select an anti-bacterial formula for cleansing sinks, countertops, and showers.
Include a bottle of carpet stain-removing spray or carpet freshening powder if you have area rugs or carpet.
Finish the cleaning bucket with a roll of Bounty paper towels and a few reusable folded cotton cloths to apply the cleansers. Stash the cleaning buckets in bathroom cabinets or under the kitchen sink.
