It's really important to clean a baby bathtub thoroughly. If you clean and disinfect it every time you use it, the tub is less likely to develop any bath product or soap scum buildup. It will also be ready for your baby's next bath! Follow these easy steps for keeping the bathtub clean and disinfected!
What You'll Need:
Liquid Dish Soap
Bounty Paper Towels
Small Spray Bottle
Wash the baby's bathtub with hot water and liquid dish soap. If there is a buildup of soap scum or bath product residue, prepare a baking soda and water paste. Rub the paste on the sides of the tub and rub gently with a damp Bounty paper towel. Rinse the bathtub thoroughly with warm water. Wipe it dry with a paper towel.
Add equal parts of water and white vinegar in a small spray bottle. Spray the inside of the tub liberally with the vinegar and water solution. Vinegar is a natural disinfectant that does not leave behind any sort of residue or chemical reaction. If you're not fond of the smell of vinegar, keep in mind that it will go away as the vinegar dries.
Wipe down the baby's bathtub with a Bounty paper towel. Let the tub air dry, then put it away for its next use. You can also clean a baby bathtub before you use it, but if you do this, you run the risk of having a harder time cleaning it. It's always easier to clean and disinfect a bathtub after each use.
