Halloween is a wonderful time for crafting and making yummy treats. Use store-bought cupcakes (no need to bake anything) and a little creativity to make these cute cupcakes this Halloween! These are easy enough to have the kids do them with a little help and fun enough to take to school for a party. Adult supervision required.

Pre-order your cupcakes from the bakery of your grocery store to ensure that you can get them without icing. You can get them in any flavor you like, just make sure that the flavor will go your icing and toppings.

How To Make Eyeball Cupcakes

What You Need:

Store-Bought Cupcakes, any Flavor
Container of Store-Bought White Icing
Small Plastic Zip-Top Bag
Safety Scissors
Red Food Coloring
Ring-Shaped Fruit-Flavored Hard Candy
Small, Round Candy-Coated Chocolates
Bounty Paper Towels

Instructions:

Reserve 1/4 cup of the icing in a small bowl. Ice the cupcakes with the white icing, making the surface as smooth as possible.

Place a few drops of red food coloring into the bowl of reserved icing. Stir until it is completely combined and is a bright shade of red. You may need to add more and combine again.

Place the reserved icing into the plastic zip-top bag. Snip off a tiny corner of the bag using scissors. Squeeze the icing into the corner of the bag and gently pipe eye vessels onto the eyeball cupcakes. Start in the middle of the cupcake and create red squiggly lines going to the edge. Make 3-5 on each cupcake.

Place a ring-shaped fruit flavored candy in the center of each cupcake as the colored part of the eye.

Place a small dot of the reserved icing into the center of the fruit-flavored candy. Use that icing to "glue" the candy-coated chocolate in place for the pupil. Use Bounty to wipe up the counter and make the mess disappear.

How To Make Cauldron Cupcakes

What You Need:

Store-Bought Cupcakes in any Flavor
Bag of Chocolate Chips That Have Been Melted
Wire Baking Rack
Baking Sheet
Store-Bought White Icing
Yellow Food Coloring
Tube of Orange Gel Icing
Short Pretzel Sticks
Bounty Paper Towels

Instructions:

Set the wire baking rack on top of the baking sheet. Take the cupcake wrapper off of every cupcake and set them on the wire baking rack.

Pour the melted chocolate over ever cupcake, allowing it to run down the sides. Any excess will drip onto the baking sheet for easy cleanup. Allow the chocolate to set until it is hard.

Add a few drops of yellow food coloring to your store-bought white icing. Stir until completely combined and a shade of yellow that you like. You can make your icing any color, but this recipe uses yellow for the concoction in the cauldron cupcakes.

Ice the cupcakes. Use the orange gel icing to create a swirl pattern in the yellow icing. Get creative with whatever happens to be cooking in your cauldron!

Press a pretzel stick into the top of the cupcake (to one side of the top) to give the appearance of a long wooden spoon being used to stir the contents of your cauldron.

The chocolate makes these cupcakes a little messy, so make sure to have Bounty paper towels or Bounty quilted napkins on hand.

How To Make Mummy Cupcakes

What You Need:

White and Chocolate Frosting
Store-Bought Cupcakes
Wire Baking Rack
Baking Sheet
1 Bag of Multicolored Candy-Coated Chocolate Candies
Flat-Tip Decorating Cap for a Frosting Decorating Bag
Small-Tip Decorating Cap for a Frosting Decorating Bag
2 Frosting Decorating Bags
Bounty Paper Towels

Instructions:

Put the flat tip on one of the frosting decorating bags. Fill the bag with the chocolate frosting. Make a wide line down the center of each Halloween mummy cupcake with the chocolate frosting. Remove the flat tip from the chocolate bag and wash off the chocolate and then dry it thoroughly.

Place two candy-coated chocolate candies of the same color in the center of the cupcake on the chocolate frosting for the eyes.

Fill the other bag with white frosting. Place the tip on the frosting bag with the white frosting. Start at one end of the cupcake, moving in the same direction as the chocolate line, and sweep the white frosting back and forth to mimic a bandage.

Leave the candy eyes peeking out of the bandages and a small amount of the chocolate frosting showing. Put the small tip on the chocolate frosting bag and make pupils for the eyes.

Clean up any mess with Bounty paper towels, and enjoy!
