Keep your kids entertained with their very own paper towel roll animal collection. They’re simple and easy for the whole family to create in less than 15 minutes.

How To Make An Owl

Kick off crafternoons with the kids by transforming your left-over Bounty paper towel tubes into paper owls. They’ll love to decorate their cute paper owl pets with all sorts of colors and patterns to make them unique.

What You’ll Need:

3-4 different colored sheets of paper
Colored poster board paper
Colored paint and paint brush
Empty Bounty paper towel tube
Glue
Markers
Scissors
Googly eyes
Any decorations you like! Think sparkles, pipe cleaners, stickers, etc.

Instructions:

  1. Cut your Bounty paper towel tube in half horizontally then paint any color you like and leave to dry.

  2. Once dry, you can form the paper owl’s ears. Take the top of the tube and fold part of the front and back side into the center.
  3. Glue the googly eyes into place.
  4. For the nose, cut a small triangle about the size of a penny from the colored paper and stick it in place just below the eyes.
  5. To create the wings, cut two ovals roughly two inches long from your colored poster board paper and secure to either side of the roll.
  6. For your owl’s little feet, cut two smaller ovals (the size of a nickel) from your colored poster board paper and glue side-by-side, just inside the base of the roll.

  7. Time to customize! Cut another oval shape from colored paper to form your craft paper owl’s belly and decorate with a unique pattern then glue into place.
  8. Finish off with any of your other decorations!

How To Make A Paper Roll Butterfly

Recycle your empty Bounty tube into a paper towel roll butterfly. Kiddos will love putting their own spin on each butterfly and get carried away with their designs.

What You'll Need:

Empty Bounty paper towel roll
Glue or tape
Pipe cleaners
Paint and paint brush
Markers
Scissors
Googly eyes
Any other decorations (glitter, stickers, jewels, etc.)
Colored paper

Instructions:

  1. To start your butterfly paper roll craft, cut your empty Bounty tube in half horizontally. This is going to form the body of your paper butterfly.
  2. Next, paint your butterfly’s body and leave to dry completely.
  3. For the wings, trace and cut two heart shapes from your colored paper and decorate.

  4. Glue or tape the two hearts together at their base, then tape to the back of the Bounty roll.
  5. Glue your googly eyes to the front of your butterfly.
  6. Just below the eyes, draw a smiley mouth with your black marker.
  7. For the antennas, fold a pipe cleaner in half and curl the tops. Tape or glue the antennas just inside the top of your roll.
  8. Finish off by gluing any other decorations to your butterfly’s body and wings!

How To Make Bunny Crafts With Paper Rolls

Whether it’s springtime or not, bunny paper roll craft is always popular with the kids. Grab your empty Bounty paper towel tubes and hop to it!

What You’ll Need:

Empty Bounty paper towel roll
White paint
Googly eyes
Small pom poms
White and colored paper
Markers

Instructions:

  1. To start your paper roll bunny craft, first cut your empty Bounty paper towel roll in half horizontally then paint it white.

  2. While that dries, you can make the bunny ears. On white paper, trace and cut out an oval shape that’s pointed at one end.
  3. Then for the smaller ear insert, repeat on colored paper, center and glue on top of the white ears. Glue just inside the top of your paper roll.

  4. Glue googly eyes into place on your paper roll.
  5. For the whiskers, cut your pipe cleaners to roughly 3-4 inches. Gather together and pinch in the center to twist. Once they are intertwined at the center, fan out each of the pipe cleaner ends so you have three on either side and glue into place just below the eyes.
  6. Next, glue a small pompom just above the center of the whiskers for the nose.
  7. To finish, use a marker to draw your paper roll bunny’s mouth.
